Privatlivspolitik

1. Who we are

Fremad is a career-coaching application operated from Denmark and reachable at hello@fremad.ai. For the purposes of the GDPR we are the data controller for the information described here.

Fremad is an early-stage product built by a very small team. This policy describes what the software actually does today rather than what a larger company’s policy usually covers. If something here is unclear, ask us — we will answer, and if the answer is embarrassing we will fix the thing rather than the wording.

2. What we store

  • Your email address. It is your account. There is no password — signing in sends a six-digit code to that address.
  • Your profile. Current role, aspiration, career history, chosen route, and the interface language you pick. Whatever you enter, plus anything parsed from a CV you upload.
  • Your conversations with the coach. Stored so the coach has context next time and so you can reopen an old thread.
  • Your wins, and their evidence tier. Including anything a colleague wrote when they confirmed one.
  • Your growth activity. Challenges you took on and moves you logged.
  • Basic operational data. Server logs with IP addresses and timestamps, kept for security and debugging.

We do not ask for and do not want: your date of birth, your national ID number, your salary, your health, or anything else in the GDPR’s special categories. Please don’t put them in a conversation either — the coach has no use for them.

A note on language. Choosing Danish, Norwegian, Swedish or English changes the interface and the language the coach writes in. It never changes anything you wrote yourself. A CV imported in one language stays in that language, a win you typed stays in your words, and an endorsement is always shown exactly as the endorser wrote it. Translating someone’s own account of their work would change what they said.

3. Why we store it

To provide the service you asked for — that is the legal basis for almost all of it (performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Server logs and abuse prevention rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the service running and unabused (Art. 6(1)(f)). We do not rely on consent for anything except optional emails, which you can decline without losing access to anything.

We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. We do not build profiles of you for anyone else’s benefit, and there is no third-party analytics or advertising tracker on this site or in the app.

4. The AI coach

The coach is built on Anthropic’s Claude models, accessed through Anthropic’s API. When you send a message, that message and the relevant recent context from your profile and conversation are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Anthropic’s commercial API terms state that inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.

The coach can be wrong. It is a language model reasoning over what you told it, and it will occasionally state something confidently that is not true. It is not a substitute for professional advice — legal, financial, medical, or otherwise. Where the app presents role requirements as data-backed, that data comes from ESCO and is labelled as such; everything else, including any timeline, is modelled and labelled as modelled.

5. Who else sees your data

We use a small number of processors, each for one job:

  • Render — hosting and the Postgres database where everything is stored.
  • Anthropic — the language model behind the coach, as described above.
  • Brevo — transactional email: sign-in codes and endorsement requests. Brevo receives the recipient address and the message.
  • ESCO (European Commission) — when the app looks up what a role requires, it sends the job title and nothing else. No account, no identifier, no other profile data.

No one else. We do not share your data with recruiters, employers, or anyone claiming to represent them, and there is no arrangement under which we would.

6. Public profiles and endorsements

A public profile is off by default. If you turn one on, it publishes only the wins you explicitly choose, at a URL anyone with the link can open — and it is not gated, so treat it as public. You can unpublish it at any time.

When you ask a colleague to confirm a win, we email the address you provide, with your name and the win in question. If they confirm, their name, their affiliation, and anything they wrote become part of that win and appear on your public profile if you publish it. We confirm that the person at that address responded. We do not verify that they are who they say they are, which is why the badge says Endorsed rather than Verified.

If you were emailed as an endorser and would rather not have been, reply to that email or write to hello@fremad.ai and we will remove your address and any endorsement you gave.

7. How long we keep it

Your data stays until you delete it or your account. Deleting your account removes your profile, conversations, wins, growth activity and public profile from the live database. Server logs roll off within 30 days. Encrypted database backups may hold deleted content for up to 30 days before they expire; we do not restore individual records from them.

Sign-in codes are single-use and expire within minutes. An unverified account with no data is removed automatically.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your data. Two of these are buttons rather than requests, which is how it should be: Settings → Export downloads everything we hold about you as JSON, and Settings → Delete account removes it. For anything else, write to hello@fremad.ai and we will respond within 30 days.

Data is stored in the EU. If you believe we have handled your data badly, you may complain to your national supervisory authority — in Denmark, Datatilsynet.

9. Cookies and local storage

There are no advertising or analytics cookies. The app stores your sign-in token and your language preference in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in and stay in your language. Clearing site data signs you out and forgets the preference. That is the whole list — which is why there is no cookie banner.

10. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will email you before it takes effect. Minor clarifications will simply update the date at the top.
